Possibly, everyone has different sensitivity levels. If sensitivity does occur it usually is gone within 24-48 hrs

• If you are pregnant 
• If you have been told by your primary dental provider that you have severe gingivitis, heavy recession and/or periodontal disease (the gel can be very sensitive and in these areas would be extremely uncomfortable) 
• Braces on the front side of your teeth or invisalign attachments (book once these appliances are off!)
• If you have any large untreated cavities/broken teeth or loose fillings 
• If you have not had your teeth cleaned by your hygienist or dental professional recently . The less build up on your teeth the better results you will get!
• Do you have any fillings/veneers or crowns on your front teeth? A whitening session can still be completed if you do but we will have to discuss in more detail.

Most filling material will not lighten. Reach out to discuss this further as you can still have a session done your session just may look a little different. Same with Veeners & Crowns.

Probably not. teeth whitening is a tricky trade and everyones tooth structure will re-act differently. Please do not expect a hollywood white smile after one session. Our goal at U Whitening is to provide a safe, effective and more natural way of brightening your smile. Also note if you have internal staining that area will not whiten as well if you have a more grey hue of a tooth it is much harder to whiten. 

• Consent form reviewed/any questions answered 
• Brushing station set up to help remove surface stains/pre-rinse
• Place in cheek retractor 
• Gum barrier applied (to help keep gums comfortable during the process)
• Whitening gel applied in x2 15 minute intervals 
• Remove gel & retractor 
• Please be advised it takes 24 hrs following a session for full result to be complete

If you think you are starting at a darker shade, book an appointment to start the whitening process approx 4-6 weeks before the event. If you think you are already a lighter shade and do not need a dramatic whitening result then approx 2 weeks before should be fine. We do not recommend whitening the day before (or even a couple) due to after a teeth whitening session you can have sensitivity gum discomfort and possibly lightening illuminations on some parts of your teeth (if you have little white spots on your teeth already).

We do have take home kits! These kits are great and do approx 12 sessions at home. The kit comes with x2 whitening gel syringes (11%HP active), mouth tray, tray case and a mini led light. If looking for a noticeable brightness recommended to complete the kit back to back for 5-7days. If only using for touch ups, used as desired.
